Among parks or zoos with a pond or a fountain, many have a problem of some abnormal propagation or turbidity. Limonite has the function of promoting decomposition of organic matters by adsorbing phosphorus which is the cause for algal and, as a result, vitalizing activities of micro-organism. It also has the effect of reducing offensive odor such as that of ammonia. It is currently used for ponds or fountains in diverse facilities, rivers or wastewater treatment plants.
The main nutrients required for proliferation of algae (green algae) include carbonic acid, nitrogen and phosphorous. Among these, though carbon is discharged into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide by respiration and nitrogen as nitrogen gas by nitrifying bacteria, no phosphorous is discharged from the underwater circulation system. Accordingly, it is thought to be most effective to reduce the concentration of underwater phosphorous in order to prevent proliferation of algae.
A desulfurization agent is “Desulfurization Hydrogen Water” which adsorbs hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide is a very harmful gas which causes health impairment of human bodies and promotes corrosion of equipment and appliances. Accordingly, a desulfurization chemical is required for hydrogen sulfide generating environment to remove the harmful gas. Our hydrodesulfurization agent, Limonicu, is a desulfurization agent which uses limonite, a natural resource.
The used desulfurization agent after adsorption should be abandoned or disposed with care as it generates heat or gas when contacting the air.

Limonicu produced from limonite by way of plastic working has a function of removing smell of lime. It also has an effect of suppressing generation of algae, green algae, and mucus by adsorbing phosphorous. The numerous fine pores as shown in the photomicrograph enhance the adsorption force by increasing the surface area.
